Dr. Konrad Faulstich is an internationally recognized life sciences executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across biotechnology, diagnostics, and biopharmaceuticals. Combining a PhD in Chemistry with an MBA in General Management, he brings a unique blend of scientific expertise, strategic vision, and entrepreneurial execution. Throughout his career, he has consistently created value through business transformation, international expansion, successful exit, and initiatives with high societal impact.
Among his notable achievements are the turnaround, growth, and successful exit of a family owned medical device/IVD business through its acquisition by QIAGEN, negotiation of complex government, academic and industry partnerships with deal volume up to €500 million in cash inflow, support of the global manufacturing and commercial network behind COMIRNATY®, the largest pharmaceutical product launch in history and the deployment of a mobile molecular diagnostics pilot platform in collaboration with the United Nations across 40 countries, which helped strengthen veterinary disease surveillance and safeguard the food supply of more than 900 million people.
Dr. Faulstich serves as an independent advisor to investors, founders, and growth-stage companies, is a partner at Ventac-Partners and active as a university lecturer and thought leader in biotechnology, diagnostics, and healthcare innovation. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from Goethe University Frankfurt, his MBA in General Management from Cardean University and has been a Staff Scientist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg.
